Fast-food style ice nuggets! You know the sort, that ice you love crunching on after draining your Route 44 drink.

It's not fast, so this isn't for parties. Rather, use it every few days to fill up a few gallon bags worth for storage. Or just give it a home on the counter if you have space to do so (footprint is small, so this is viable for larger kitchens).

Easy to clean, easy to store, easy to move (this is critical if you may be gifting it to someone who's not as spry and strong as they once were).

I would not recommend buying this machine unless you are okay with throwing your money away. Shortly after arriving, the machine started to leak at the base where the drain is located. The hose that attaches to the machine is cheap and looses its fitting quickly. We did our best to make it work in the meanwhile. The shortly after the leak problem we noticed that the ice that was being made was immediately being melted. Almost as if the machine was going into a defrost mode. We checked the control panel to make sure the settings were proper and they were. When we contact the seller to report the problem, nothing good. Only push back and then pages of trouble shooting techniques and steps to go through to “verify” the machine is not working. I am not a refrigeration tech and the ridiculous amount of requests to open, reset, reprogram, take this piece, replace that piece is not going to change the fact that the machine is not making ice. When asked to please send a return label, it didn’t happen. The product is trash, don’t buy it. If it breaks you will not receive your money back and the customer support is less than helpful.

It does the trick for the three of us.

We were not at all impressed with this machine at all when we first started to use it. It wouldn't make very much ice, it would constantly go into Defrosting mode, etc . . . Another friend who has one, asked if were were using distilled water. We were not. The manual mentioned a "suggestion" of using Distilled Water but we didn't since it was just a "suggestion". My husband performed a full clean of the machine with vinegar (in the manual) and we started using the Distilled water . . .100% improvement! It now makes a TON of ice and has never once gone into the Defrosting mode. We have another appliance where the manual says ONLY use Distilled water and we always have . . . GE needs to update the manual to say "ONLY use Distilled water" and we would have listened from the beginning! We now LOVE this ice machine!!

Although it takes hours to make this craft ice, the ice turned out superb. We used distilled water and put the machine on a timer while we were at work. Get the containers to store the ice too!

Love this are are built for what it was designed for I ordered 6 of them to give as gifts my son uses one every day due to the one on his refrigerator is broke so far the one he had I previous purchased over a year ago is still working where I live is we get hurricane so when we have boil water advisory's we use it with bottle water I also use it for every day ice because I can use bottle water and not what comes out of the faucet it better tasting water and it keep up for parties too it makes enough fast enough it will keep up for 6 or 7 people but u have to keep filling it wje. It runs out of water and if the ice melts it recreates what melts
