When it worked it was nice. Its very loud though. After a month of using it though it started leaking most of the water out the side. Not really sure why but since it was on the countertop it soaked everything else on the countertop, ruining a cookbook or two. 1 month of use is way too little for the $300 price tag. Wouldn’t recommend. I did try contacting them about the leaking issue, and got no response.

This constantly breaks down and died two weeks ago! It will not make ice at all. Very expensive for only working intermittently over six months! Makes terrible groaning noises on and off from day care ne! Not easy to clean. When it made ice it was wonderful it was just inconsistent. And for the price that is not acceptable!

I was so excited about this ice machine. 1. It Is very big, we lucked out that it fits under the cabinet, barely. 2. After 2 months it started leaking all o er my counter. Not sure why but it stopped after a few weeks, but after We didn’t move it at all, it worked. No issues then fast forward to 12 months. Ran 2 cleaning cycles and now it will not make ice at all. The machine starts, then after 5 minutes both the full and fill lights flash and it stops working. Paid decent mo ey for a machine that stopped working after a years use. Would not reccomend.

The machine makes awesome “Sonic” style ice quickly. I like that it has a cleaning and draining feature. Those are the good points. Unfortunately, this machine has a few bad points. First off this machine is huge. It would not fit on my countertop and I doubt it would fit on countertops in most kitchens that have cabinets over the counter. Check the dimensions if space is an issue. The other MASSIVE issue is after about 3 months of use the machine started making a horrible screeching noise after it would run for a while. I figured out that the ice was freezing into the holes it comes out of and causing the motor to strain. If you turn off the machine and allow it to thaw everything is ok but I am always worried if I forget to shut it off the motor will burn out. For the price I paid, this is very disappointing and I would not recommend purchasing this.
UPDATE: Here are are shy of a year of use and I think this thing is dead. The machine stopped making the screeching sound for the most part and I had hope. now this thing makes a couple pieces of ice and shuts off and asks me to run a cleaning cycle. I ran 4 cleaning cycles, changed the water, etc. It just does not want to make ice for me. DO NOT BUY!

Setup was very easy. Good simple instructions. The auto shut off feature is a plus. I never worry about it overflowing. After about 2-3 months it started making loud grinding sounds. Can’t return it now.
Shortly thereafter it stopped working. Produces lots of chewable ice very fast! However, in terms of long lasting stability…I don’t recommend getting this item. You’ll have short lived happiness with it.

I purchased this ice maker to upgrade my refrigerator’s ice cubes, which often had unpleasant odors. The Dr.prepare Ice Maker turned out to be a convenient solution. It’s user-friendly and produces ice cubes quickly. The self-cleaning function is a bonus. I was hoping to make juice ice cubes, and I’m curious if this ice maker can handle that. One thing to note is that it does make some noise while operating, similar to a refrigerator, but it’s tolerable. Overall, it’s been a satisfactory purchase.

I am glad I waited. The instructions given were a little confusing. I followed the instructions; I waited the hours before starting up, cleaned the machine several times, put water in it to the max fill line, but it would not get out of standby mode. I would cut it on and it made a noise for several seconds, but it would not start producing ice.
I figured I had someone else’s return and I was going to have to wait until Icemaker.us.com Prime Day to get a deal on a new one. Frustrated, I added extra water beyond what the instructions called for and cut it on. I then heard it waken and start producing ice. So to anyone having trouble as I did, pour enough water into the reservoir to where the bottom of the ice bucket is covered by two inches of water. I think the “Max Fill” line is a little off. Don’t worry about two inches of water at the bottom of the basket. Once it cuts on, the extra water is sucked up and into the machine.
I do like the quality of the ice. I knocked off a star for bad instructions.
