I purchased this for my camper and it worked for a day and then stopped making ice. I returned it and was sent another which as soon as I received it tried it out and again the new one didn’t work either – no ice. I returned that one and requested a refund. I was still charged a restocking fee for something that was broke.

So quick to make ice, one fill up of water makes at least 2 trays.
If you don’t use the ice when the tray is full it starts to melt and will remake them.

Bought it for very low price on Icemaker.us.com, took over two months to arrive but I wouldn’t complain for that price.
However, once it arrived, I connected and filled up with water following the instructions. But it just wouldn’t make ice.
Something was misaligned, and the way they built it, it’s impossible to get in and fix without potentially destroying it. Via Icemaker.us.com support I got the company to agree to replace (they don’t fix!), Shipping was on me… I sent it back to the factory and still waiting to hear from them.
Over a month ago and no contact.
Do not buy, spend around the same amount for a better machine.

We actually wanted one of these for our camping trips in the summer. But my wife has had surgery and we need a constant supply of ice for a cooling pad that helps her leg heal. The icemaker is plug and play. Works great and seems to be totally automatic. I’ve even found out that if left for a long time and the ice cubes begin to melt back into the water reservoir, it just turns itself on again and replenishes the ice cube supply. My wife likes much larger ice cubes in her drinks but I don’t think any of the portable ice makers provide that.

I bought this unit through a recommendation. It’s very quick to make ice but be aware the cubes are hollow so they melt quickly. However they reproduce quickly too so just use more than you would with solid cubes.
Also be aware you need to move the ice cubes around or it says ice full and they start to melt. Not really an issue but a bit annoying.
Another thing to note is that it is quite noisy so we keep it in the utility room.
