   I really wanted to love this, but the production is slow and the dispense is also slow. The ice melts back into the water supply reservoir since it’s not cooled, and this (several times) created an ice bridge/air gap between the ice and the auger which gives no dispense until you break the bridge. Machine is a little noisy, but that was to be expected. Needless to say the idea of a dispensing machine vs a scoop machine didn’t work out, this one is going back for the GE Opal nugget 2.0. We didn’t really want a machine that everyone could reach into the bin for sanitary reasons 🙁

   Happened to pick this up at Costco for our office to replace another model. I like the automatic dispensing, but it is a little slow. The ice is good and doesn’t hurt when chewed. I don’t like it quite as much as the GE/Opal model, but it is passably close.
   The only issue is with the volume. It is noticeable in our office which can be quiet. I think it will be ok in the long run, but it wish it were quieter.

   This machine not only makes ice much quicker than my prior unit of a different brand, but the water bin is removeable for easier and more efficient cleaning.
   I have a iced latte at breakfast time. With this machine there is enough ice left from the night before, that if I turn it on upon waking, by the time i need ice to make my coffee, it’s ready, I’d say at least 15 minutes or so. My prior icemaker could take 45 minutes or so to make enough ice, it was just too slow!

   In my prior icemaker, the bin that holds the water was not removeable, and it met it’s demise when it got contaminated (mildew/mold) in it that I couldn’t get out, as the water bin couldn’t be dumped and washed in the sink, it could only be drained, which was inefficient. With this new Avanti, I can simply take the water bin to the sink to dump/scrub it out. What a relief! So I feel this will be safer to not only keep clean daily but last longer due to ease of cleaning

   Received June 7th. So far use 1-2 times as week. I like to run for a couple of hours to make enough nuggets to place in a gallon zip lock bag and store in the freezer, along with eating the ice freshly made. Operates as I expected. Noise level is not bad, what you would expect for a rerigeration unit running. Dispenser is great and so far no problems with excess melting or ice dams. Tastes great, as I use bottled or filtered water rather than hard tap water. Might seem a little slow for someone wanting a large quantity for a party, but great for household use. The ice basket compartment is not refrigerated but well insulated so neglibile melting while I wait for it to fill up. Like how any left over ice melts and returns to the resevoir. Overall, great for my drinks, iced coffee, and best of all chewing. Will update later with pictures and if my rating changes.
