   This ice maker has been an absolute lifesaver for any time of the year! Even though I’ve only had the item a few days, it is my favorite by far.    This ice maker makes up to 28 lbs of ice in 24 hours and the first batch was ready in just 7 minutes. I initially thought to use it just for parties or when I had some people over and I needed more ice than usual. But it’s just so convenient that I leave it on the countertop for everyday use! It’s so nice that it lets me choose between small and large sizes and has a nice LED touch panel that allows for easy control. There’s also a timer function that is useful for when I want it to make some in the morning so that it’s ready for me to make my ice coffe. The best is the self cleaning function because honestly who has time for that.. This is really nice!

   This is a nice small bullet icemaker. In comparison to another one I have, this is quieter, and runs a lot less. The other made nice ice, but the fan was loud, and it seemed to run a lot. It would also show the ice bin as full, and it wasn’t; it didn’t push the ice far enough forward when it was about half-full. I’d have to knock the ice into the bin, and then it would dump the next batch of ice.

   This ice maker runs just long enough to make a batch of ice, then is quiet. It pushes the ice appropriately into the bin. It has a countdown so you’ll know when the next batch is ready. Recovery is pretty quick. My granddaugter takes a large tumbler of water, juice, etc. to school each day, and one morning the ice bin was empty because someone forgot to add water. I filled it, and a half hour later, there was plenty of ice for her large tumbler.

   I do have a refrigerator ice maker, but due to concerns over cleanliness of the water line (even with filters in the fridge) and mold in the lines, (look up into your own water / ice dispenser from the outside), we are only using this icemaker. We also installed a reverse osmosis water filter at our sink for drinking and cooking water.

   My fridge doesn’t keep up with ice demand when I have guests over, or during hot summer days. Running to the store to get a 10lb bag of ice certainly works, but is inconvenient at best. This icemaker offers a simple solution. Making 9 ice cubes at a time, it can produce its first batch in 5 minutes and will continue until the basket is full or the water is used up. I don’t know if I would want to use it to fill a cooler – as you would need to empty the ice tray and refill the water multiple times, but for supplemental ice, it’s perfect.

   The unit is classy, and is small enough to find a home on a kitchen counter (a little bigger than a coffee maker)

   A few negatives:

   The handle is not very sturdy for the weight of this unit. I would not advise carrying it via the handle
   The plastic moving parts are thin plastic – They should hold up, but time will tell.
