I wanted something that wasn’t huge so it could sit it on my counter top. It is a little noise when it’s emptying, but that because I have an open concept so I can hear it operating. That’s when I simply turn it off and then restart later. It’s quick to make ice so that’s not a problem. This is not for a large family or crowd if you want a lot of ice at one time. I got the stainless model and it complements my appliances very well. Easy to use and compact enough to take along or store. Great price and quality. Definitely recommend! Also… there is a film protector on the stainless models incase you are unclear about the color selection as I’ve read in the reviews.

I like the ice maker, and it is reliable and makes nice ice. However, once the ice bin is full, it does not keep the ice chilled. If you leave it in too long, it starts to melt, and when you put it in the freezer the cubes stick together. I have used other ice makers in the past that did chill the ice, which is a nice feature, especially if you leave the ice maker on overnight.

Pump on the machine started failing about after a year of use. Pump completely stopped running January 2025. Nice machine during its life. Produces bullet ice quickly. I was satisfied but expected a longer lifespan.

This year we added a collapsible kettle for very easy hot water when at a powered site. This ice-maker was our #2 favorite addition for ability to have ice! It really does crank out ice “bullets” in about 6 minutes! Very cleverly takes any water that comes from melting ice, since the ice storage is not chilled, and puts it right back into the water supply for more ice.
Can barely hear the fan running, and although you can hear a few click noises as it gets ready to dump freshly made ice, the loudest sound by far is the fresh ice being dumped into the bucket.
