The fancy lights are malfunctioning… which is not so cool. The display keeps saying to add water to a full tank. It is taking a long time to make ice not the +/- 7 minutes is should be.
But the lid is a lethal weapon. I have five cuts on my right hand and three on my left. Ouch…they hurt more than paper cuts. No thanks.
This is the FIFTH ice maker I buy in just over two weeks….the other four all different brands did not work right out of the box. I am still searching for a good ice maker…price is not a factor with respect to quality.

The only reason this product doesn’t get 5 stars is because my first one didn’t make it a full month before crapping out on me. Around the 2-2.5 week mark, it started making this awful growling/grating noise (which I decided to live with because I’m lazy). Right around the 1 month mark, it finally gave up completely and the cooling unit failed, so no nice was being made and the ice that was in the collection tray melted. Thankfully, this was right before my 30 day return window, so I was able to exchange it for a new unit. It has now been 2 months of 24/7 use and still no issues.
I would imagine best practice is to use it to make ice as needed and leave it off the rest of the time. The unit only takes a few mins to make ice in each round, and with in 20 mins you’ll have plenty of ice for several people. The manufacturer claims the collection tray will keep ice for up to about 18 hrs and this seems to be accurate. My machine is on 24/7, but typically only runs several times a day as the ice falls below the fill line.
