I got this ice maker a few months ago with the 3 liter jug for water that mounts on top of it. That didn’t work, not even close. I blame Icemaker.us.com for that, they were advertised together and I figured they would work together. They didn’t. But at least Icemaker.us.com would not take the jug back, so I got to pay for that for nothing. The ice machine made ice, but it made sheets of ice, not ice cubes. So I would have to put it in an ice bucket and chip away at it to make cube-ish type ice. Oh well, that is well stated in the other reviews, I guess I’m not that bright. So skip a ahead until a few days ago and it just stopped pumping water. No water = no ice. It turns on, but no ice. I unplugged it for a few days to see if the electronics needed to reset, nope. I ran it through it’s cleaning cycle, no water = no cleaning. So finally I did what the manual said to clean it, took all the parts off that didn’t require me opening the case. Ran some vinegar through it, still no water. So I went to the Costway web site for tech support. The agent told me we would do it over email and she would get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. Perfect. Who needs ice anyway, right?
I know that I’m just one guy who bought an ice machine and I hope my experience is not the average. But this has been my experience and if I had to do it all over again, I would just get a simple cheap pellet ice maker and just suck up and deal.

It’s perfect for what I need. It doesn’t make much noise. Fits nicely on my counter top. I like that you can pick how thick you want your ice. If you have it set for thicker, it takes a little longer. You do have to take the ice out of the machine and put it in the freezer, it doesn’t keep it frozen. Overall it is a very good ice maker. I would definitely recommend it.
