It makes ice in 7 minutes, but never shuts off as long as it is plugged in. Once you unplug it then it stops making ice. Otherwise it just keeps making ice until the water runs out. But it still wont’ shut off, it will just blink add water. There is also a clean button. I’ve pushed it, but I have not seen it do anything. So, what would need to be cleaned?

This ice maker is ideal for countertops, ideal for a 2 person household but no more in my opinion. Was expecting a larger storage area for ice cubes but for just my husband and I it does the trick. Would have to purchase bagged ice however if having a social engagement. Makes more noise than I like but I think it is like a refrigerator, once you get used to the background noise, you don’t notice it

I purchased a few items at the same time and this is the one that I love the most. It is easy to use, quiet, kicks out a lot of ice in a short amount of time…and I love the color. The only minor thing that I don’t like is that the ice is always dripping wet. I have not figured out a way to put the ice in the freezer bag without all of it sticking together. It’s very minor though and I would buy this again and again!

I bought this ice maker for myself. It’s easy to use. When the basket is full of ice I just put it in a baggie and pop it in the freezer. It’s easy to fill with water and clean is easy as well. It’s great.

UPDATE: I’ve had the machine for about 8 months and it has stopped working consistently. Some days, I’ll turn it on and it just sounds like it is running, but nothing ever comes out. Other days, it will make a couple cubes and turn off. Then other days, it turns on randomly by itself. I plan to look into the warranty that I purchased and hope to be able to resolve this issue. I still love the machine… when it makes ice.
Original review: After buying an 8 lb. bag of ice every other day at the store for a year or so, this product was a godsend! The ice is a different texture than ice from your freezer. The cubes are a bit softer, but that’s not a bad thing. After having the cubes in a drink for a little while, they turn into a nice slushy consistency. Even after sitting in the freezer for a day or two, the cubes aren’t too hard. Nine cubes pop out every 8 minutes or so, so it takes a couple hours to get a nice bag full. I would definitely recommend this to others. And the green color is a nice pop in the kitchen.
