This is a great countertop ice maker that makes 9 ice cubes every six minutes. I have it in my bar area and will turn it on half an hour before guests arrive, so I have plenty of ice available for drinks. The bin isn’t insulated though, so I do have to dump the ice cubes into a cooler to keep them from melting. That feature and functionality could be improved in this device, but I wasn’t expecting too much considering the price.
I don’t use a lot of ice normally, so 9 cubes every six minutes is plenty for my everyday needs. I like the size, weight, and portability of the machine, which means I take also easily move it outdoors for a BBQ. The handle makes this easy too, and it seems to be pretty good quality so far.
It’s a good ice maker if you don’t use a lot of ice, and don’t mind moving the ice to an insulated container every so often to prevent the ice from melting.

I never knew I needed one of these until I saw my daughter’s. I’ve always used the fridge for ice, but this is so convenient when you have an outdoor function or need a little extra ice for a get together. It is also a stellar performer in the RV when I go camping. Our rv fridge doesn’t have an ice maker and the freezer is a little small for manual trays. This sits quietly on the counter and pumps out enough ice for our needs. I don’t even have to run it all the time as the cycle time is fairly quick. Two – three cycles fill my insulated mug and a few more fill a bag for the freezer. The unit is very quiet and you hardly know its on. Since the ice will melt if allowed to sit in the tray, it is best to use it after the tray is full. I don’t like to let it freeze and melt again into the reservoir too many times as the ice will sometimes develop an after taste based on your environment. When I am done, I just turn it off and it is fine to let the water sit for a day or so. If it will sit for a few days, I drain the water out to keep things fresh. This is also a good time to run the ‘clean cycle’. So far it is holding up well. Workmanship seems good. Time will tell on ultimate lifetime. One hint though is to make sure that the cubes don’t jam the lift flapper. This could lead to the lift flapper stripping out if you let it happen too many times. It is a good buy with the discount coupon.
