To reduce possible noise levels, I used a rubber bushing to reduce noise/vibration. The pump is great. I had used the gravity drain for several years and this is so much better at removing the water resulting from ice melt. I have only used it about a month but so far so good. The installation instructions were good. Remember you don’t need the shield unless using outdoors (which I wasn’t). I think you will be happy with the pump if you had experienced blockage in the drain line as I did when I had the gravity drain system.
