Followed instructions. Let it sit upright for 24 hours. Put it through the cleaning cycle. Connected everything as directions showed. Turned it on to make ice. It sounded like there was a serious compressor issue and along with that there was a smell like something was very hot. I sent it back.

This ice maker makes ice very well. However, every time it makes it there is a very loud grinding noise. We have followed all of the steps in initial setup. Have emptied it multiple times and tried to clean it. Nothing has resolved the issue. Looks like this is from an Icemaker.us.com store so not surprised by the quality of the product. It is our fault for not recognizing the seller up front.

Great value for the price. This ice maker was fairly easy to set up. After a quick check for leaks, which there were none, and an initial cleaning of the machine internally, it went to work making ice right away. The plastic construction seems very sturdy. The drawer sits open at an angle to allow easy scooping of ice out. The tubes for water and drainage could be a little more robust, but they will likely last a long while. It runs quietly and the instructions were easy to follow and I’m really excited about using this ice maker!
