The quality of the product is great I can tell it’s going to last me a very long time. I did have some questions about the machine and I reached out to Newair customer service and they were very helpful. 10/10

Wife got this for me for Christmas and immediately I was impressed at the size/sturdiness of the unit. Followed instructions to the letter and filled with the designated water. The issues i’ve run into are these: when the ice is full, and you open the door to get ice, the last 2 balls fall behind the bin and you have to squeeze your arm down into where the ice balls fell. Happens EVERY time. Next, the ice that has been made and saved in the bin, will melt during the day if not used. This in turn fills the provided water “bucket” to collect the melted ice. It doesn’t get cold enough to keep the ice balls frozen all day. Also, this thing uses a MASSIVE amount of electricity if you keep running 24/7. I’ve turned mine off, and only turn it on in the evening if I know I’m having a few cocktails later. In my opinion, it needs some design updates to give a 5 star rating.

The newair is ball make is great. I normally use the silicone mold, but it needs to rest in the freezer flat and my freezer has too much stuff. What I like about the ice ball maker is that it is convenient. I made two batches of ice balls 12 total and stored them in my freezer. One full water tank makes 6 ice balls and takes about 2 hours to make. The ice balls are about 2 inches and the ice storage holds twelve ice balls. The ice maker can keep the ice balls frozen, but I prefer to place them in a storage bag and keep them in my freezer. That way I can turn the ice ball maker off while not in use.
The setup of the ice ball maker was easy. I placed my ice ball maker on my kitchen counter. The drain tank sits behind the ice maker. One tip is to ensure the drain tube is completely inserted into the back of the ice maker or it will leak. Operating the ice maker is easy, fill the water tank and press the power button for 3 seconds, and let the ice ball maker create.
I would recommend this newair whiskey ice ball maker to all. It is an elevated experience drinking Bourbon or Whiskey with an ice ball versus crushed ice.
