This is convenient to have small ice, for cold drinks. My family owns another portable ice maker, that is much smaller, and slower than this. This is about 15 minutes faster, and the ice capacity is twice as much. We are bringing this with us on vacation, at a rental home near a beach, that does not have a fridge with an automatic ice maker. It’s great for entertaining, and simple to operate. I would suggest starting the ice maker a day prior to having any type of function as it will need time to fully fill up. If your freezer is full, and there is no room to be making ice all day, or fridge does not have an ice maker, this is a very nice option compared to others.

This ice maker doesn’t take up much space. If you have limited room on your counters it might be an issue, but otherwise it just need a little more space than a coffee maker. It is simple to set up and use. You do need to manually fill the water, but it makes a lot of ice on each fill.
This makes the little chunky ice that everyone likes to eat. It is a softer type of ice, so while not great for your teeth, it is at least better. It makes a lot of ice in a day. It can make 33 lbs, but the capacity is much less so to get that amount you need to empty the hopper into the freezer.
However, it will make enough for a cup of ice in a few minutes, so unless you really need higher capacity this should keep up for a household needs. It doesn’t have a way to keep the ice frozen, so it will. Let over time. But it reuses the melted ice instead of the water being wasted which reduces the need to refill.
Great little countertop ice maker for a household. It isn’t going to keep up for a large get together though. And this is the ice you have been wanting vs the cubes.

I make drinks multiple times daily. Iced coffee, soda, sparkling water, you name it. So I have definitely given this ice machine a work out for the last 3 months. Here are my thoughts…
It makes ice, fast. Now, the trade off is that the ice isn’t super frozen when it comes out. It needs to sit in the catch bin a bit before it’s “set” but you will have ice at least. Now, to stretch the ice pebbles I add 2-3 cubes of my refrigerator ice on the bottom of the drink to keep the liquid cold enough to hold the ice, otherwise the ice pebbles melt very fast.
Even with frequent use, the water doesn’t have to be refilled super frequently. I would honestly say for high use, maybe once a day. It is also very easy to clean out and recommended to do so if you use tap water to avoid mineral deposits. I use purified water to cut down on that.
I think this is a great ice machine to have on hand if you like to entertain or just like making drinks like me. It won’t replace your major ice use, but will elevate your drinking experience for sure!
