Bought this commercial ice maker for home use and found the packaging it was delivered in to be very sturdy and the unit was in good condition. Did find when removing the white plastic protective sheet on the top that it was put on before the black plastic edging so the white sheet was stuck underneath it. Fortunately I was able to carefully pull all of it out without much difficulty. Overall I have found the unit is very easy to operate by merely turning it on and setting the duration of the ice cycle. The longer the duration the bigger and denser the ice cube will be. I set it on the maximum setting of 6 minutes and I timed the cycle. The unit ran water over the cooling grid and started forming ice for 13 min 45 sec before the 6 minute timer started. At 18 min 45 seconds the unit stopped the water flowing and initiated the release cycle, which took about 1 min 15 seconds before the ice fell off into the collection hopper, which should hold about 15 – 20 lbs of ice. Overall the total cycle time at the maximum ice density setting was 20 minutes. I have found this ice machine very easy to set up and operate and should definitely meet our ice needs.
