I bought this ice maker in December 2019 (approximately 5 years ago). We have been using this unit at least a few times a week ever since. I didn’t know anything about the VIVOHOME brand of appliances, but I decided to take a chance on it because the price was lower than most of the popular brands. Whether you dislike making ice, or if you don’t have an automatic ice maker built into your fridge, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS to anyone who needs or likes to have ice on hand. There is ONLY ONE DRAWBACK in my opinion. The ice cubes are smaller than a normal ice cube made in a tray, and they are wet. When we empty the small ice basket, we put the ice into larger sized freezer storage bags. Unfortunately, the ice ends up sticking together. However, we learned to adapt by smacking the bag of ice on the floor or on a counter. Overall, our family has been very satisfied with this ice maker!

I purchased this ice maker to supplement the refrigerator’s ice making capacity since we go through a lot of ice. This ice maker makes perfect ‘large’ ice cubes that are great for chewing after finishing your drink. Although it is not quiet the noise quickly becomes unnoticeable background white noise. The ice maker is very sturdy and well made except for the ice basket and the scoop which are made of cheap plastic which does not stand up do normal daily usage. The left handle on my ice maker broke within 6 months and the scoop has a chip in it since it is not made to stand up to the ‘harder’ ice. All in all, if I can super glue the handle or get a replacement ice basket then it is an excellent purchase.

Got the product read the instructions and there is no self cleaning function on this ice maker which was the whole reason for buying it. It’s two stars because it is a decent ice maker just false advertising.
