Pros: makes ice quickly.
Cons: is not as portable as described. Needs to plumbed to a water supply, and drain needs to be available lower than bottom of the machine. Ice starts melting as soon as it is made since bin is not refrigerated. It drains a lot of water.
I bought to have available when we have parties. I placed in laundry room and bought a $6 fitting to plumb to the existing laundry tub water supply. I elevated the ice maker and drain into an existing floor drain.
Overall for the reason I purchased unit I am satisfied.

It sounds like a small plane taking off. You need to have it hooked to a drain or pump. It makes plenty of ice, but it melts quickly. I would have been happier with one that maintained the temp instead of just being like an ice chest. It is constantly draining and making ice. It is just like the counter top ones in the 100 to 200 range, only much larger , louder, uses more electricity and doesn’t seem to recycle the water from the melted ice.

This is a great little ice maker, pops ice at 15 min intervals and works like a champ! This ice maker does not freeze the ice after it is made. It falls into an insulated place that you need to transfer to your freezer or cooler. It does waste a lot of water. It will waste about 5 gallons of water in a 10 or 12 hour period of steady running. I am running filtered water through the ice maker so instead of running the water down the drain, I run it into 3 gallon water bottles and use it for drinking water.

A larger storage bin would be very nice. Overall the product works as advertised, the noise level is more than I expected but since I have it in an outside shed I don’t have to hear it often. This was my first ice maker purchase. I probably would have opted for one with a much larger storage capacity 7.7 lbs is not that much ice when you think most bags are sold in 10lbs or larger.

I purchased this product 10/26/15. This is my 2nd purchase of this item after a default replacement 2.5 years ago, which broke in 1.5 years – yes, I should have learned my lesson the first time. The first one I purchased broke in 2 years. This one has now stopped working 1.5 years from purchase. Buyer be ware, there is NO warranty after 1 year on any of the parts. Yet, the Icemaker.us.com site gives you the warranty applicable to the a/c units that offer 3 years on the compressor. You must keep the packaging to return the items for repair and they will not ship out certain items even if you pay for them (ie: compressor). This unit costs over $500. If you have to keep buying them semi annually, its not worth purchasing this unit. I am going to look for a different product where the manufacturer can service it and warranty it for at least 3 years.

Thought it freezes ice when it’s done making, instead the ice melts and the machine makes the ice again. And it lets a lot of water out. We had it installed undercounter and the drain wasn’t steep enough to let the water out. Had to cut the hose and put a bucket under it. It fills the bucket pretty fast as it constantly makes ice.
