Such a very pleasant surprise! The pictures and imo the description led me to think that this might be kinda houky. It’s very light, lighter than a coffee carafe with coffee in it, has a removable handle, and a cute little basket that catches the ice but you can pull the whole thing out to like transfer to an ice bowl or whatever. I believe the description lists it makes ice in 6 minutes. I haven’t timed it but it feels like less than 6. Now, the ice isn’t that really hard stuff that you get at the store in those plastic bags, it’s a little on the watery, softer side. It does last though in my insulated cup for a good amount of time.
Honestly, this would be perfect for parties and especially the summer picnics and get togethers. I also use it to fill my automatic ice maker in my fridge that my husband hasn’t hooked up for 5 yrs… That’s another story…

This is better than I thought it’d be. This ice maker is small enough to sit on my countertop, but it’s powerful! It makes ice in under six minutes, plus it can make over 26 pounds of ice per day. That’s a lot for an ice maker this size, and it’s more ice than we use in our house. It comes with an ice basket and scoop. It cleans itself too, which I love. I’ve been using it for months now and haven’t had one issue. It’s powerful and reliable. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic ice maker with a small footprint, perfect for our bar counter at home! This makes ice nice and quick and it tastes great, no funky smell or taste. It has a self cleaning feature, that’s awesome. It makes plenty of ice in just a few minutes, I guess it’s magic. Works better and faster than our freezer which takes longer but makes bigger cubes but always has ice, but this has the benefit of being separate from other freezer foods, so no weird smells or food leaching in to the flavor of the ice. If you are an ice snob like me, this is the one you want!

Two to their words, I can have an ice drink in six minutes. Produces ice rapidly and when the little bin fills up, I just put it in the freezer for our get-togethers.
So nice to have this little unit rather than losing space in my freezer. Considering the cost for a new fridge with the ice unit in the freezer, yes I had to buy a new one. It’s so much nicer to have the space considering the amount of ice we use.
This will be great to take along with us in the RV next summer!

I unboxed the ZAFRO Portable Countertop Ice Maker, and had it clean and set up in under 10 minutes, with the first ice cubes out at the 16 minute mark. There was a bit of a plastic smell, and that is why I washed it, (and I also did not use the first few sets of ice cubes, to be safe)
The second set of ice cubes came out after almost 8 minutes, which is about two minutes longer than advertised. I was using room temperature water, which was about 73deg, not sure if that can be a factor. The third and fourth sets also took almost 8 minutes each.
This is listed as portable. It does have a handle, and it is fairly compact (though about the same size as other countertop ice makers), but it does weight around 13 pounds.
I measured that you get about 1/2 cup of ice per set. So yeah, 1cup of ice every 16 minutes.
The icemaker appears well made, and looks good. I find that the fan is a little louder than expected, and I can hear it running a room away, kind of similar to a typical bathroom fan.
